About Us
After years of working and living in London, Ted followed his dream of travel, adventure and sailing by moving to the Amalfi Coast and founding Oh Susannah Charters in 2017. In 2020, while sailing south to escape lockdown, he met Vanessa on the island of Malta. Their shared love of the sea and adventure brought them together, and they married in 2022. Along with their dog Marley, they sailed back to the Amalfi Coast, where they now live in the hills overlooking the coastline.
The family grew again on New Year's Eve 2023 with the arrival of Sofia, their newest crew member.
Together with their incredible team of skippers, Ted and Vanessa are passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for their guests. Their warm hospitality has turned many visitors into lifelong friends who return year after year.

Check in at 5pm at Marina D'Arechi in Salerno, where your skipper will greet you with a welcome drink as you settle into your boutique yacht. Set sail along the Amalfi Coast for a two-hour journey with breathtaking views, arriving at Marina Coppola in the heart of historic Amalfi just in time for sunset. Head ashore for dinner and drinks, wander through cobbled backstreets steeped in history, or enjoy an aperitivo while people-watching in the lively piazza.
After breakfast, set out along the coast for a day of adventure. Prefer a morning off the boat? Choose from a cooking class ashore, a visit to Ravello, or a hike through terraced lemon groves to swim in waterfalls — your skipper will guide you to the best options. Escape back to the sea to swim in secluded coves and explore hidden sea caves only reachable by boat. Enjoy lunch at a beachside restaurant without the queues or crowds. In the afternoon, sail to Positano for drinks and dinner ashore, or venture further to tranquil Nerano for a mooring in the bay and some of the best food on the coast.

After breakfast, sail along the coast, stopping to swim, paddleboard, and snorkel at the Li Galli Islands — three small, privately owned islets with crystal-clear waters. Enjoy lunch at a beachside restaurant before an afternoon sail to Capri. Arrive at Marina Grande and dock in the marina. Set out after breakfast — or, if you prefer, take a morning cooking class or hike through the lemon groves to a waterfall before departing at noon. Sail along the coast, stopping to swim, paddleboard, and snorkel at the Li Galli Islands. End the day with a sunset sail to Nerano, mooring in the bay for dinner at a waterfront restaurant. One of the quietest, most authentic corners of the Amalfi Coast.

Drop anchor for lunch beneath the Castello Aragonese, a medieval fortress rising dramatically from the sea. A full day to explore this extraordinary island. Sail around its coast, stopping to swim and enjoy lunch at anchor in secluded bays. Alternatively, head inland to the volcanic thermal spas at Poseidon or Negombo. In the late afternoon, anchor in the natural hot springs at Baia Sorgeto for an aperitivo in the warm water as the sun sets. For dinner, head to stunning Sant'Angelo and dine on the beach at Fumarole, where food is slow-cooked by volcanic heat beneath the sand. A truly unique experience.
Sail along the south coast of Ischia to Procida — the least-visited and most authentic island in the Gulf. Anchor in Marina Corricella, where pastel-coloured fishing houses tumble down to the water. Take the tender ashore for lunch at one of the seafood restaurants along the quay. Then sail on to Capri, arriving after the day-trippers have left, when the island is quiet and golden. Enjoy dinner ashore, people-watching, and a very good bottle of wine.
Spend the morning exploring Capri, then set off back along the Amalfi Coast. Stop to swim in crystal-clear anchorages and enjoy a long lunch on the beach or at anchor. As the afternoon light softens, take a mooring off Positano and use the water taxi service to head into town. Enjoy drinks on a terrace, wander through the narrow streets, and savour dinner with a view of your yacht waiting in the bay.
Spend your final day onboard, sailing back east along the Amalfi Coast. Stop to explore the quieter villages of Atrani, Minori, or Cetara — far less visited than Positano, but equally charming. Arrive back at Marina D'Arechi in Salerno for your final night aboard. The marina offers excellent onward connections by train and motorway, ensuring a seamless end to your journey.

Ted has been sailing Oh Susannah on the Amalfi Coast for many years. He founded Oh Susannah Charters as captain, tour guide, cleaner and one man band and knows the coast better than almost anyone. He speaks Italian and lives with his wife Vanessa, daughter Sofia and dog Marley in the hills behind the coast. Ted will be the point of contact to help guests plan their perfect trip. Nathaël is an Amalfi Coast seasoned skipper with expert knowledge of the coast and an outstanding record of 5 star feedback from his guests. Originating from the French Alps he has a passion for adventure and the open seas having lived and sailed his own yacht around the Balearic Islands, Spain, Portugal and North Africa. In 2024 he sailed across the Atlantic to the Caribbean. Guests are in safe hands and in for a good time with Nathaël at the helm.
Leo is a true adventurer and free spirit. He captained Oh Susannah in Malta, Sicily and Ischia receiving glowing 5 star feedback. Leo has just completed 2 years cycling around the world and has worked on research stations in the Antarctic and headed up rescue operations in the Southern Mediterranean. Leo is an experienced skipper and traveller with some tales to tell and looks forward to welcoming guests onboard Divina this summer.
